Curators! ArtFund Grants Available

'New Collecting Awards'
FIRST DEADLINE 7 NOVEMBER 2014
A new funding programme that will enable promising and ambitious curators to pursue new avenues of collecting for their museums, and at the same time build critical professional skills.
A fantastic opportunity is offered with this grant programme, New Collecting Awards. It aims to nurture the skills and experience of up and coming curators through participation in a strategic collecting scheme designed to support acquisitions of the highest quality.

There is £300,000 available in the first year.

New Collecting Awards will help museums and galleries develop their fine and applied art collections by offering 100% funding for focussed collecting that will extend holdings into new areas, or deepen existing holdings in imaginative ways.

And, because the ArtFund believes that excellent collections development requires growing curatorial vision and ambition, award recipients will also receive a funding allocation dedicated to their own professional development – to spend on research, travel and training costs to support their collecting plans, as well as the ongoing support of a mentor, ArtFund staff and trustees.

If you are tempted by this and interested in applying please contact Rachael Browning on 0207 225 4816 or email rbrowning@artfund.org

You can find full details on the application process with further information on the aims and scope of this exciting scheme will be available at www.artfund.org/newcollecting from Thursday 25 September 2014.

Start thinking and planning to get your application in! First deadline: 7 November 2014.
